15:02 PATREON Supporter Sebastián Trujillo Del Río – Hi John, what do you think about what happened to your colleague, Chris Stuckmann it seems Universal Pictures “is strategically targeting his negative reviews of their films” taking down only bad reviews of their films claiming Copyright Infringement, has it happened to you? Thanks for your videos.

25:46 PATREON supporter David Lloyd – Hey john have you watched a film that you recognise is a masterpiece and excellent filmmaking however is difficult to watch due to the psychological impact it has e.g the pianist. Thanks for answering my questions and keep up the good work.

27:36 Desmond Kingston – Hey John! Love your stuff. I heard you talking about how you just saw Hamilton, and I was wondering your opinions on musical theatre and musical in film. What are sone of your favorites? I particularly was curious how you felt about the 2005 RENT film directed by Chris Columbus.

30:34 Gino Lioe-A-Tjam – Big fan! Now that Spider-man has a decent shot of becoming the biggest boxoffice super hero movie of the year (so far), do you think there is a chance marvel studios will give Spidey more screentime than they originally intended in the upcoming Infinity war movie? And if not in that movie, perhaps the 4th Avengers movie? .

  1. Can't they just claim part of the revenue? It's just a few of their clips and such, but the rest of his videos would be virtually the same without the clips.

  2. I'm glad you think justice league will be the #1 comic book movie. I'm honestly not sure if justice league will be any good. D.C. has only gotten ONE universally received good movie in WW. Personally…I liked MoS and S.S. was "ok" I know a LOT of people didn't. And I'll never see the directors cut of BvS because the only way to get it is to buy it (can't rent it) and after shelling out nearly $100 to see that garbage in theaters….I won't give em another dime. I actually forgot J.L. was releasing this year because I still don't really trust D.C.

  3. Still waiting on my moviepass card after ordering in around august 20th. LAME. now I'll get the card with a few days in Sept. and they'll bill me, and then bill again right away in Oct. Of course for the $10 it'll still be worth it as long as the service maintains for the next few months!

  4. This is censorship! I want a list of movies that the studios are penalizing Stuckman for so I can boycott those movies! In fact, for each movie Stuckman is penalized for reviewing I'm going to boycott 3 other movies that studio puts out. (The clips help the audience to understand what the reviewer is talking about!)

  5. Did anyone else notice John calling friends are Screen Junkies, Chris Tuckman and Jeremy Jahns.. "or whatever" lol.. Interesting.. I still would love to hear what really happened at Collider.. just saying 😛

  6. How can a trailer not fall under fair use? It's promotional material. You'd think studios would encourage the broad sharing of a commercial of a property that they want audiences to buy into.

  7. The Hound from Game of Thrones was right…Fuck the King. I wish YouTubers who are getting screwed by the King, in this case, scumbag corporations, including YT, would find a way to fight back. The people need to rise up. The King has more money and more lawyers, but the people have the numbers. Off with their heads!

  8. As someone who's trying to build my own channel on movie topics, I wholeheartedly appreciate the advice since I'm struggling with copyright issues due to trailer clips from "It" myself. What I don't understand is, when they say "ads might appear" and "monetized by them", does it mean all potential revenue from the video fully belong to them?

That does not seem fair since 99% percent of it is still my original content. I'd be more open to it if the revenue is shared 50/50. How does it really work?

  9. I'm not really a huge fan of Chris Stuckmann to be honest. I prefer Jeremy Jahns. What I don't like about Chris is that he often tends to have a bit of a holier-than-thou attitude when he reviews movies, his opinions are often too popular. Usually, if he likes a film everyone else likes it and the same happens when he dislikes one. However, there were two videos he made that were really bad. These videos made me not watch him anymore. The first was his 2015 Oscar reactions video where he came off as really whiny and full-of-himself stating a few hypocritical things like criticizing them for only picking films that no one has seen and then saying with one particular nomination "Who saw that one?"
However, the video where I really lost a lot of respect for him was his video On Fanboying where he and The Flick Pick basically said "You have to recognize that this movie is bad so us true fans can get good movies." I found their video extremely arrogant and insulting. After that, I pretty much decided I was done with him. I've watched him a few times occasionally but not enough to make me consider resubscribing.
If you do like him, that's perfectly fine. He's just not for me and I don't hate anyone who does like him. Different strokes, different folks. I simply hope that those of you who do like him understand why I don't anymore.

  10. What he did does fall under fair use just look at what happen with H3H3 and they won in court. It's not like he was doing a reaction video where he just sits there watching the trailer.
